Implantable Defibrillator Support Group
You are invited to attend the St Vincent’s Hospital ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) information day. The aim of the day is to provide support and education for all ICD recipients and their families and friends. It is also an opportunity to meet others with ICDs and share experiences.
DATE / TIME
Tuesday, November 8th 11.00am-1pm
VENUE
Level 4 Function Room St Vincent’s Clinic***
TOPIC
“Planning ahead with your ICD”
Defibrillators are designed to prolong life, however despite ICD's and other medical advances, all of us will eventually approach the end of our lives. Often we are reluctant to speak about this with family and close friends resulting in unnecessary stress during a very emotional time. This session will provide information about ICD function at end of life care and introduce you to Advance Care Directives.
